The Quilt Show & #5 & Rearranging

Here is a close up of the quilting on finish #5 for the year. It was made from the leftover triangles of another quilt that I blogged about here. 

I was happy to get it done to hang in the quilt show which was March 16. The show went well with about 50 quilts hanging. I only had one quilt of mine hanging that had been in the show before. There were 11 local quilters who shared their quilts in the show. 

Here is a shot of the Eiffel Tower quilt my niece made to raise money for her trip with the Vivace Chorale to Paris. It is an adaptation of the Stained Glass Denim Quilt Pattern I have used so much. It is amazing to me how many people are still asking for that pattern.

This quilt was done all by hand by a local quilter. The base of the tree is hidden by the sewing machine that was for sale. The creator of the quilt saw a 3" X 3" picture of this tree and enlarged it to a queen size quilt! This quilter shared 7 or 8 quilts with us at the show!

Here are three more quilts on display. 

Another quilter shared these two quilts on the quilt rack with us. They were both hand sewn. The Cathedral Window quilt used 30 yards of unbleached muslin and 3 yards of the blue calico.

I have been working on getting things rearranged in the house to allow for the new pieces of furniture that arrived a few weeks ago. I emptied out a bookcase and took it to my niece's house. I rearranged things in the great room and then started to add items to the new curio cabinet. I kept adding and found more things and added them and was rather surprised to fill it! 

I have also been working hard at cleaning up the sewing room. It was just such a huge mess! I am pretty satisfied with it right now but there is still room for improvement. I bought some bins to store fabric and batting, etc. and started filling the little drawers in the sewing cabinet and I even got rid of quite a few things. I will try to post some pictures soon but the weather is improving and I have a lot of work to do outside!

Shopping and Dropping

Dropping off quilt show posters, that is. I decided today would be a great day to get some errands taken care of. 


I got the date changes made for the quilt show signs and took them to get them laminated. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get them done while I waited!


Then I headed to the first LQS to look for back fabric and to drop off quilt show information. The person working today was so helpful and friendly. She even offered to take a copy of the information to her quilt guild and gave me her email address so I could send the information to her in an email so she could pass it on to the newsletter editor. She also suggested I take the drawing quilt to the local farmer's markets to sell tickets. I think I might just try to do that as well as maybe spending a day at each of the local quilt shops. 


I didn't find a back there so headed to the next shop and found a nice black tonal that will work. I even had a full punch card so got almost 40% off the cost! The owner there is also willing to have me spend a day selling tickets at her shop.


After dropping a bag of discards at the thrift shop I headed to the next shop. They were not as friendly - I have found that shop to be rather hit and miss in the customer service department - but they did take a quilt show flyer to post. That shop wasn't far from a sewing machine place so I dropped a flyer off there also. 


The sewing machine place was right by the Amish furniture place and I stopped in and bought a nice sturdy drying rack which will be great for hanging quilts for sale at the quilt show and other events.


Headed off to the next shop where the ladies were very friendly and, as I perused the clearance fabrics, I came upon this piece of Christmas fabric (the scissors and seam ripper are for scale).

I saw it and thought how great it would be for a back for this quilt...

...which I would love to have done before the quilt show. If things go well with the HP quilt and I get a lot done at the retreat next week I think I should be able to quilt this one and the last of the 5 other Christmas quilts I made last fall. 


Anyway, after I got home I got my new fabrics in the washer and got busy finishing the cutting of the girl baby quilt so it is all kitted up and ready for the retreat. 


Right now, I am ready to relax for the rest of the evening but I am hoping tomorrow I will have it in me to get the HP quilt basted and ready for quilting.

So what do you think?

Yep, the top is done and waiting for backing. Though I haven't gotten an email saying the backing has shipped so I might just have to go do some shopping to get a different backing fabric so I can get this thing quilted and finished! I am planning to make another Harry Potter quilt so when the backing does come I will just use it for that.


I ended up with a black tonal for a border. I had enough of the fabric to cut 4" strips to go around so that is what it got!


Yesterday I also did another coat of mud on the drywall so it is looking better though still not great - definitely not one of my favorite jobs. 


Other jobs for yesterday included folding the 3 loads of laundry that have been languishing in the laundry room while I sewed, going to my neighbors to cut numbers on her Cricut to put a new date on the quilt show sandwich boards so they can get put out today or tomorrow, and doing a little cuddling with an adorable little baby boy. The little guy is almost 3 months old and was not impressed with my skills - he wanted Mommy! When his daddy came home he said that it is the same way for him so I shouldn't feel too bad! I didn't because we did have a little while when he was happy!


Oh, and I also had a little time to get started with cutting the pieces for the girl baby quilt. I would love to have the cutting done today so it is ready to take to the quilt retreat but my first job is to get the sign amendments done so they can be laminated so they last for 2 weeks in our lovely wet February/March weather!

WooHoo!

My castle fabric arrived today! As soon as my husband brought it in I got busy prewashing so I could get started on Hogwarts! While it was in the washer and dryer I got 3 more blocks done.

They go much faster when they don't have so many parts! When these were done I pressed the new fabric and got started. First up was finishing the 4 house crests. Got those done fairly quickly though not without some minor mistakes. Then came the Hogwarts crest. And then I started building me a castle!

Here is what we have so far. There are a few other small pieces made up but they didn't make it in this shot. I picked out my roof fabric but discovered I didn't have enough for what I have planned so either I need to go shopping or use two different fabrics. I am leaning toward the two different fabrics because I really want to try to use up more of the fabric I have on hand. I also picked out my grass and sky fabrics from my stash. I think next I will make a few blocks using the sky fabric, you know, the Flying Ford Anglia, a Dragon and maybe Hedwig and then I can look at getting the sky added to the castle. When the sky and castle are put together I will move on to the grass and then the lake. When that is all done I can add the other blocks around the outside and make some borders.

It is a good thing I got another comfort quilt quilted on Wednesday and got the binding finished that evening because it has already been delivered to a church member who is in rehab following a stroke. The last comfort quilt we had on hand from before was also delivered to someone in the hospital with kidney problems. I finished the binding on one more comfort quilt last night and have one more to be quilted - maybe tomorrow, we'll see.


I got 4 more Harry Potter blocks done yesterday. I now have all four of the house crests done except for the lower corners which are waiting for that castle fabric. I am hoping to get it tomorrow.

Then today I got 4 more done! Which makes a total of 28 blocks so far! 

As I said before, I am hoping to get the castle fabric tomorrow because I would really love to get started putting the center of the quilt together so I know how many blocks I need for around the outside.


Hubby got home early this afternoon and got the drywall up in the shower stall so I guess I will need to get on with the taping and texturing soon!

Weekend Wrap-up

I did scrub the tub and floor but the tub is going to need something stronger to get it clean. You know, that dried on film that just doesn't want to come off. Got some product for that problem so I will head back in there tomorrow.


Meanwhile, we got the vanity moved back in, the tank back on the commode, a fancy new seat that doesn't slam shut and has a removable potty training seat, the shower curtain rod up and new switches and outlets. I also got the new door painted and Hubby has gotten started on the new medicine cabinet.


I did a little shopping on Friday and found a few more batiks to go with the ones I had.

The one on the bottom is the background. I didn't find a dark blue for the border so I will have to do some more shopping I guess. Oh darn! The fabrics went in the washer Friday afternoon and on Saturday I got all the cutting done and started on the sewing.


After church today, I raked up the first trailer load of leaves from the yard and tidied the house a bit before a lovely visit with a good friend I haven't seen for a couple of years. She is one of those friends that even though you don't see them for long periods of time you can pick up right where you left off. The visit was too short and makes me want to go spend some time in Virginia!


When I got home I did a bit more sewing and now I have these little piles waiting for me on the sewing machine to get started with tomorrow.

Is it going to settle down?

At this point I am not so sure. But more about that after I update you on the last couple of weeks.

Here are the quilts that I made with the kids. This is Layden's creation. He is 5 1/2 and just started Kindergarten. He was very methodical in his placement of the pieces. He chose the layout - I think he saw it more as 2 rows of 3 instead of 3 rows of 2! He chose his green background fabric and was instrumental in the choice of the rainbows for the back and sashing.

Here is little Clara's quilt. She is 3 and just like laying them all over the place! Clara chose pink because, you know, pink is her 'fravrite' color!

I drove them back home last Monday and let me tell you, driving for 6 hours or so with those two kids is no mean feat! The only time they weren't talking was, wait! they never stopped talking! I was able to kiss them goodbye the next morning as they headed to the first day of Kindergarten and preschool and then rode with their dad to pick them up and hear about their morning. While they were at school I enjoyed a relaxed conversation with my son-in-law. He works 12-hour shifts on the weekends when I am usually visiting so it was nice to have a chat without kid distractions.


I headed out just before lunch and my son fed me lunch at his apartment at college. He is starting his senior year at Washington State University.


I left there when he needed to head to class and drove up to my other daughter's house on Lake Coeur d'Alene. She had to work until 7 so I got to have a nice one-on-one with my other son-in-law. I spent the next two days at their house enjoying my daughter's 'weekend'. We had a little sew-in up in her attic. Thank goodness the weather was a bit cooler so it was comfortable up there! We each got a Professional Tote made and had a great time! This is my bag...

 ...and this is Rebecca finishing hers. 

I headed home on Friday and got busy with laundry, picking blackberries and getting everything put away. My sister arrived for a visit from Idaho just before dinner as did her daughter who lives about 30 miles away. We had a fun weekend! Saturday we did a garage sale marathon hitting 27 sales! We got some treasures - my favorite was a piece of vintage barkcloth - about 11 1/2 yards for $80! I have been thinking about making new curtains for the bedroom using barkcloth but hadn't yet found any larger pieces online.


Several months ago, our pastor asked me to make her a green stole to wear with her alb. I got it finished very quickly but then never remembered to bring my camera to get a picture of her wearing it. I finally remembered this past Sunday so here it is. I caught her as she was greeting folks after worship.

She looks happy here but today she was looking a bit tired. A hot water pipe broke under the kitchen sink at church on Tuesday evening sometime and wasn't discovered until about 5:30 in the morning when the daycare staff came in. The kitchen and bathrooms upstairs were flooded along with the bathrooms, storage area and one classroom downstairs. Luckily, the insurance company is being very helpful and we have professionals cleaning things up but it is still a headache! Tomorrow I am going to go in and help figure out which of the wet items is worth keeping or should be trashed! Luckily, we have finally gotten summer here so it is warm and dry to help with the drying and the weather is supposed to be lovely for outdoor worship on Sunday.


Yesterday I did some yard work and got laundry washed and on the line during the day and in the evening I made it to my quilt guild meeting. We had a great speaker and I got my registration forms for putting quilts in the show in October. Also, the guild president announced that she won the auction for my quilt that was hanging at the bluegrass festival!


This morning I did some more laundry (the sheets and towels are all done now) and also made two batches of peach jam and this afternoon was LWR quilting day at the church. 


I haven't gotten any sewing done since I have been home but I am hoping to get into the sewing room soon as I have quite a few project deadlines looming!

Awesome Deal!

So what is the least you have paid for quilting fabric? $2/yard? $1/yard? That was about as good as it had ever gotten for me before Friday. But on Friday, I got so lucky!


I was checking out some local garage sales after dropping the dog off at the groomer and at one, I saw a Fiskar's cutting mat in it's package. I asked how much and was told $3 and that she didn't think she had even used it. I went for it since many of my mats are getting a bit sketchy.


The lady asked if I wanted her sewing machine and I explained that I have several machines already and she asked what kind of sewing I do. I answered with "mostly quilting" and she said she was sure she had some fabric in the piles somewhere so she went hunting. She found a plastic bin full of fabric and said she wanted $5 for all of it including the bin! I took the deal and loaded my car.


When I got home with all my treasures I looked at the mat and discovered that it had been used some but not too much and in the package were two rulers! An Omnigrid 6"X12" and a Fiskars 6"X24" which still had the protective film on the bottom! Many of my rulers are getting a bit sketchy also so I was jazzed!


I didn't really look at the fabric until Sunday and on Monday I got the serger out and got the fabric in the washer. It is all washed, pressed and folded now and the final tally is:


8 fat quarters
23 - 1/2 yard pieces
1 - 2/3 yard pieces
6 - 1 yard pieces
2 - 1.5 yard pieces


for a total of 23 yards and on top of that there were 8 yards of one white on cream so 31 yards of fabric for $5! There was also some drapery/decorating fabric. I have used part of that to make one LWR quilt top and have enough for probably half of another top!


Today was the first day of sewing with the big kids at our church's daycare. We had fun for two hours helping 12 kids each make one block for a LWR quilt top and one block to be made into a mini quilt for them to take home. I think there will be 7 more kids on Thursday to help and then hopefully we can get all the mini quilts finished too. We will have the kids help tie the quilt when we have our regular LWR quilt tying day.


I used some of the 8 yard piece of fabric to finish off my 1.5" squares. I got the top done this afternoon.

Biting off more than I can chew?

I hope not! I am feeling a little stressed but I think it is just that there are so many projects hanging over my head. I am prepared but there are a lot of unknowns involved.


On Monday our son returned from his trip to South Korea to visit his girlfriend. It sounds like he had a good time but since he is here and his computer is at his apartment on the other side of the state we will have to wait for pictures until he can do some downloading and editing. 


His girlfriend's mom sent these beautiful fabrics for me. I am not sure what exactly I will make with them but I am toying with making a wallhanging for me and a matching one for her to thank her for taking such good care of the boy. She also sent this cute little bag that she made (look at those cute little prairie points).

My son brought me this beautiful sample of traditional Korean handwork made from silk. I am hoping my husband will make a frame for me so I can hang it on the wall.

Silly me, I volunteered to make a quilt for our church's 'VBS' program this year. We are doing it on 5 Wednesday evenings and as part of the adult class I am having people help me make a quilt. My niece, Katie, designed a quilt in 5 parts and I get to figure out how to make it work in fabric. This was last night's section which is very loosely based on the story of Moses in the basket in the river.

Today I got next week's section ready to go since I volunteered for another project. This one is making a quilt with our church's older day care kids. I got all the pieces cut out from donated fabric and the goal is that each child will make a 4-patch block which will be put together to make a LWR quilt top and they will help tie it. I also cut out pieces so they can each make a little 8.5" 'quilt' to take home if we have enough time. We will work with them for 2 hours each on Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Piles of fabric

Someone dropped off three huge garbage bags of fabric at church for the quilting ladies. It was pretty decent fabric so I proposed that I take it home and use it to make some nicer quilts that could be used for baptisms, graduations, comfort quilts, etc. and I would donate some of my larger pieces of fabric to be used for LWR quilts and backs. The proposal was accepted to I schlepped the bags home and on Sunday afternoon I went through all the fabric. I took out some of the larger pieces or pieces that I didn't feel I would use in a quilt and put them on the LWR pile and also cleaned out some of my larger pieces and ended up with about 2 huge garbage bags to give back! I sorted through the fabric some more and divided it into some different groups of colors or styles.

The biggest piles was florals. Now, these are not my favorite type of fabric so I don't buy much but there are a lot of patterns that work well with a variety of florals so I pulled those out first and cut some of the 'darker' ones up for two quilt tops. I now have the two tops almost put together, just need to sew the borders on, which I hope to do tomorrow. (I originally wrote this post on Saturday but didn't end up posting it until today so the two quilts are done but I don't have the pictures ready yet.)


Thursday afternoon, my niece, Brita, and three of her friends arrived for a visit to Washington. We had a nice dinner and a good visit that evening. In the morning after blueberry muffins and raspberries and strawberries I dropped them off at the ferry for a day in Seattle. Yesterday evening we picked them up after dinner and came home and watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 so we will be ready for Part 2 at the theater! This morning the girls were up and out of the house by 6 heading up to the San Juans. I didn't wake up until 8 which is pretty amazing for me!


Brita's sister, Katie, was here also and she and I got some sewing done. She quilted a baby quilt yesterday and then today quilted two little paper-pieced wall-hangings and got the bindings on those ready for hand sewing. We also went to the local farmer's market to check it out. I figure if you live less than a mile from something you should go at least once! I ended up getting a nice Hosta for my yard and a little Lion's Head Japanese Acer tree. On our way to pick up the girls at the ferry we stopped and got some border fabric for a couple quilts that need finishing and also a pot to replant the tree so I have another project!

A finish and a start

When I last wrote I was waiting for my new serger so I could get my fabric in the washer.

On Thursday I got a back ready for the Spider Web quilt and got it basted and first thing Friday I got it quilted and got the binding sewn on. I finished the hand sewing over the weekend and it is ready to take to the guild meeting next Wednesday.
The package arrived on Saturday morning and I went to work on getting it threaded and running. It is very easy to thread and works like a charm. Here is the pile once I was done!And here is the fabric on Monday after it was all prewashed and pressed.
Yesterday I pulled out the batiks I bought for a quilt I have been commissioned to make. The customer wanted a beach and ocean quilt using strips. I talked her into using curved seams instead of straight and I got the beach and ocean parts done yesterday. Today I went shopping and bought some fabrics for the sky - a sunset. This is what I came up with.
Tomorrow I hope to get it trimmed even and straight and maybe I will go and buy the border/frame and back fabric so this one can be finished soon!

Then it will be on to the next commissioned quilt...

2 More Kits & A Block

This morning I got two more quilt kits finished off. I had them both started yesterday but needed another piece of green fabric to finish one and ran out of time before I needed to head into town for a haircut so I couldn't finish the second. After the haircut I got the green fabric and after stopping at three stores found a carrot button for the snowman on the relay quilt and some little black buttons for his eyes and buttons. I also got a couple other items that I happened to see while I was out and about.

Here is a picture of the two completed kits. The one on the left uses carnation fabrics I got from my sister and husband for my 50th birthday from Northcutt's Flower of the Month line. The kit on the left is made from 4 fabrics that my daughter gave me as a gift a couple of years ago.

As you can see, these fabrics have been around for a while and it is about time I got something done with them!!!!!

Here is the block I made from my chosen layer cake for a current round robin. I have had the layer cake for over a month but I was struggling with what kind of blocks I wanted. I toyed with the idea of making my blocks into a table cloth but I changed that to making a placemat out of each block. The white behind my block is a piece of pellon showing the size and shape of the finished placemats.

Quilt Kits

I got the coveralls all taken care of and the fabric all pressed. As I worked on getting the fabric all put away I needed another bin so I emptied one that had groups of fabric I had special plans for. I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to turn those projects into kits for the upcoming quilt retreat. I got three taken care of this afternoon. Now to see if I can wait until the retreat to start sewing!

This kit uses some sock monkey fabric that was given to me a while back. I found a pattern to use and added a couple more fabrics and cut out what I will need for a baby quilt. I should have enough for the back and binding in the kit so I need to make sure I bring along some batting.

This kit will use some golfing bear fabrics that I have had for ages! Again, I figured out a pattern and got things cut out and ready to go. I think I have enough for borders and backing for this one too.

This one is not cut out yet but I do have a plan. Several years ago a friend gave me several Mary Engelbreit fabrics black/white/yellow/green with Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries on one. I have been kind of waiting for a good time to make a fun quilt out of these and this is the time. I have a plan but it will be kind of figured out as it comes together.

Now I need to get going on the yo-yos for the relay quilt while we watch a little tv this evening.

Keeping on, keeping on

The quilting is done on the relay quilt! And last night at craft night I finished the handsewing on the binding and getting all the threads dealt with. Today I am hoping to get at least part of the embellishments done.

But first...

I need to add name tags to my husband's work coveralls and shorten the sleeves. This is a project I get to do every year or so when he buys a new batch. He is an appliance repairman and prefers coveralls to shirt and pants (and risking butt cleavage) but can't get short sleeved ones so I cut the sleeves off and this time I get to add the name tags since I don't have a fancy embroidery machine to put his name and the company name on otherwise.

Then I also need to finish pressing the fabric that arrived in the mail on Monday. I got about 2/3 of it done yesterday before I had to leave the house. I ordered a load of fabric from Connecting Threads a week or so ago - hard to argue with $3 a yard!

Once all that is done I will figure out the embellishments and also get started on cutting some of that new fabric to have some quilt 'kits' ready to take to the quilt retreat in a couple of weeks.

Another non-quilt sewing project to take care of this week is creating a queen-size fitted sheet for our new hide-a-bed mattress out of a king-size fitted sheet that isn't 'deep' enough for our bed. My sister arrives on Friday for a couple of days and gets to be our guinea pig on the new bed.

Back to the fun stuff

I finished up the business 2010 books this morning so I rewarded myself with a fabric shopping trip. I first met my husband for lunch and then started the search for background fabric for my next quilt. I am making a quilt of 4 trees representing the four seasons. I have always wanted to make a 4 seasons quilt and since The American Cancer Society's theme for Relay for Life this year is Seasons of Hope, I thought this was the perfect opportunity! I am using the tree pattern from Dare to be Square, just making each tree 1/4 size.

My shopping trip turned up 4 different batiks to use as the sky/background for the trees ranging from white-gray to blue. I found them all at a great quilt shop called Quilted Strait. When I got home from shopping I got busy serging the cut edges of all my recent fabric purchases and gifts and got them in the washer and dryer. Tomorrow morning I will get them all pressed and start cutting as soon as possible, unless I get a second wind this evening.

It is so good to be back in the sewing room again!

I'm not slacking

I have been working on various projects but nothing too exciting to photograph.

So far this month I have finished 14 pairs of mittens and have another pair almost done (I just need to weave in some loose ends of yarn). I am enjoying making these as they just turn out so cute!

I got Linnea's quilt basted, quilted and bound and I have the label ready to embroider and attach. I will have that finished by Tuesday when we have our big reveal! We are all getting pretty excited about that!

I also put a binding on a quilt that someone else made. She just wasn't sure how to finish the quilt off and asked me to do it. I used the extra backing fabric I trimmed off for the binding strips so all I put into it was a little thread and 3 hours of time.

I got an email notice from an online fabric store about a sale and ended up buying about 65 different 1/2 yard cuts of fabrics that read as solids in various colors. Last week my daughter went to her local quilt shop and bought me another 45 different fat quarters of the same sort of fabrics since they were having their annual fat quarter sale. All of those pieces should definitely fill out my stash some. It was really lacking in some colors after recent projects. I also got a couple of new quilt patterns online so I am excited about getting started on those.

But first, I have to get all of our business' invoices, deposits, checks and parts orders into the computer (I just finished the February stuff this evening) so our tax return can get filled out so there won't be too much sewing happening yet this month. My only sewing deadlines for this month (once Linnea's quilt is done) are two blocks for the Flickr QBE and quilting a baby quilt for my daughter.

Some Pictures

First we have the layer cake I purchased to use for a round robin. This one is Moda's Harvest Saltbox. I am thinking I might use my blocks to make a tablecloth for my dining room table for the fall (or anytime since I have fall colors in my great room all the time).

Next we have a couple of pictures of the mittens I have been working on. Four pairs went to my grandkids already. These four are finished and ready for sale/gifting.

These next four are waiting to have the seams stitched up. I am working on another pair and then I will probably stitch up all the seams to get them out of the basket!

And, last, but not least, this was my birthday present from my daughter. 25 rainbow fat quarters and some blue yardage. I am mulling over what pattern to use those fat quarters for. I have a couple in mind.

Sparse

My posts have been few and far between recently. That is mostly because it can be hard to post something when I have no pictures of finished projects or even WIP. I am working away at the wedding quilt but last week was full of my grandkids followed by a weekend full of other family.

This week I am adding in some painting. My husband is doing repairs on the garage roof so it is ready for someone to come and put a new roof on it. He is replacing all the fascia boards all the way around so even though I painted the garage last year I get to repaint the trim this year. I will still have more to do on one side of the garage next year but it needs to be pressure washed first.

I had to take my desktop computer in to find out what was wrong with it (it needs a hard drive) so I also got my haircut while I was in town today.

Tomorrow my niece and I are heading to Fabric Depot for their monthly sale. I need a roll of batting, thread and I will, of course, get some fabric while I am there! So hopefully, I can share some pictures over the weekend.

Oh, I almost forgot! I sold two of my quilts over the weekend! Both were Christmas quilts and are now traveling around the country in my father-in-law's motor home.

Not much to show

I have been busy in the sewing room but nothing new in the completed pile. My goal right now is to get a bunch of doll quilts and baby quilts made to have for sale at Relay for Life next week. I think people would buy them since all the money goes to the American Cancer Society. So in the last couple of days I have gotten 4 doll quilt/table topper/wall hanging tops together and the backs and some of the bindings are ready also.

I started out using some leftovers that I got from other people, then I moved on to some 4-patch blocks I got in a swap and now I am working on the leftover fabrics from the totes I have made.
I kind of got stalled on my fifth little top because I need a 45mm rotary cutter to use with my new toy - a Double Diamond ruler. I want to use it for the sashings for at least one of the doll quilts. So I had to set that one aside until tomorrow or later. I pulled out the next tote fabrics and I have all the pieces cut for the next top and it is laid out on the ironing ready to be sewn in the morning. I have found that I will get going on my sewing a lot quicker in the morning if it is ready to go.

I still have fabrics for more little quilts but I am thinking I will get at least the 4 I have ready sandwiched and maybe quilted and get the bindings on so I can do the hand sewing on those once the t-shirt quilt is finished.

There are rumors that the weather might be nice tomorrow so I might do something outside if it dries out enough.
